Have questions about the process?

Well here are some frequently asked questions along with their answers.

HOW DO I ORDER AN ILLUSTRATION?

Just contact me via email here and I'll get back to you to discuss the details.

HOW DO I ORDER A CARICATURE?

It's easy! Fill out this initial inquiry form, and from there I will soon contact you via email to discuss your custom caricature and your preferences of style.

The next step is for you to look through your photographs relating to the project, and email me the ones pertinent to the project, so I can collect details pertaining to your caricature to best effectively complete the job. This is where I come up with likenesses and heights and characterizations of your family and your pets.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

For caricatures, these are my pricing options:

Couples
$90
Families with one Child
$110
Families with a few Children (two to four)
$135
Large Families (parents, kids, aunts, uncles, grand-kids, etc)
email me
Pets added to a family or couples Caricature
$20 per pet
Pet caricatures by themselves(full body, or just face)
$35 per pet

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Once I receive your pictures via email, then I can begin work on your caricature. Creation times vary based on the complexity of the work, and I'll work with you to determine if the work can be completed by a certain date (for birthdays and anniversaries and other events). Don't worry, you are in the loop here.

When the picture is near-completion, I'll email you a low-resolution version of the near-finished work for your approval.

My usual turnaround time per caricature is one to two weeks, not including shipping time. However, my waiting list might be up to a month long, depending on my workload, so it's best to get your requests in early.

HOW WILL I ENSURE THE ARTWORK IS WHAT I WANT?

I will send you a very low-resolution draft of your caricature via email. If it is up to your approval, I will then ask for payment prior to the shipment of the piece. I will provide the address to send a check to through our correspondence emails. Once payment is received, I ship your Illustration straight away.

The low resolution file will be small and compressed, (to stop people from stealing my art without paying for the full sized works). It is not print quality, it is only meant as a means for you to get an idea of what your picture looks like, so you can approve it or suggest important changes. Shipping time is around a week for U.S. Customers, with more expedient shipping available upon request, if you need it faster. (Faster shipping increases your price by $10 to $20 dollars depending on how fast you need it.)

WHAT DO I GET AT THE END?

For your caricatures you will get Two 8x10 frame-ready color prints on professional-grade heavy matte paper, as well as a CD-ROM with a digital copy of your artwork. Ready to share with your family, or to print more copies if you so desire. You are granted license to use your image for any personal usage you so desire.

However, using the caricatures for commercial purposes such as advertising or to pass my work off as your own work is strictly prohibited, and protected under copyright law. But I license you to make as many copies of your artwork as you desire, as long as they're only used for personal, non-commercial purposes.

WHAT HAPPENS TO MY PHOTOS?

I only keep client photographs, as used for reference material, up until the completion of the project. At which point I delete them.

And of course, I will never post your photos anywhere, so your privacy is ensured. I will not share them with anyone, nor will I share your personal information, including your full name or email address with anyone. I like to remain in good terms with all of my clients, and giving out personal information is a huge breach of trust, and hence I will not do it. We're grown-ups here. I will use your family name when naming the pictures for use in my personal portfolio and online website. If you have issue with this, let me know.

COPYRIGHT INFO

I retain full reproduction and distribution copyright on all of the illustrations, caricatures, and portraits I create using your likeness. By accepting my services, you agree that I retain all rights to use your commissioned illustrations that I create, (but not your personal photos) for my promotional items, website, portfolio, business cards, postcards, and other uses within the company.

I will never use your personal photographs in any way outside of my uses in designing and developing your artwork. And I will never doctor your illustrations, portraits, or caricatures in any inappropriate way as to slander you or anyone depicted in the artwork.
